Lithuania has a very high suicide rate

By 2007, suicides in Lithuania increased by 24 people to at 1,025 suicides On average, there are 3 suicides per day.

In Lithuania there were 31.7 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.

Lithuania has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 1,025 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 848 were men suicides and 177 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 56.6 per 100,000 men and for women 10.2 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Lithuania suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 277 homicides in Lithuania, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.7 suicides.
