By 2007, suicides in the Czech Republic increased by 21 people to at 1,379 suicides In 2007, on average 4 Czechs committed suicide every day.

In the Czech Republic there were 13.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 1,379 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 1,149 were men suicides and 230 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 22.8 per 100,000 men and for women 4.4 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In the Czech Republic suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 126 homicides in the Czech Republic, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 10.9 suicides.
