In August, vehicle registrations in United States fell by 16.99% with respect to August of 1989. In total, 1,196,900 cars were registered and 14,275,900 new cars were sold in the last twelve months, 6.95% less than the year before.
The breakdown of car sales figures for the month of August is:
- Commercial vehicles sold: 410,900, 14.11% less than in August of 1989.
- Passenger cars regitrations: 786,000, which represents a figure of 18.42% less than in August of 1989.
