There are 21 suicides per day in Iran

In 2007 occurred 7,676 suicides in Iran. This year, 582 more people committed suicide than in 2006. In 2007, on average 21 Iranians committed suicide every day.

Iran had 10.73 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 7,676 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 5,112 were men suicides and 2,564 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 13.91 per 100,000 men and for women 7.21 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Iran suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 2,015 homicides in Iran, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.8 suicides.
