In April, vehicle registrations in United States grew by 6.88% with respect to April of 2001. In total, 1,471,801 cars were registered and 17,361,670 new cars were sold in the last twelve months, 0.01% less than the year before.
The breakdown of car sales figures for the month of April is:
- Commercial vehicles sold: 758,901, 9.59% more than in April of 2001.
- Passenger cars regitrations: 712,900, which represents a figure of 4.15% more than in April of 2001.

With annual sales of 60.92 cars per 1,000 residents, 5.16 of them in the last month, United States, occupies second place, so, compared to the other countries in the ranking, its population has a good standard of living.
As can be seen, the number of registrations per thousand residents has grown in the last year. The increase in this figure is positive, as it generally indicates improved public confidence in the country's economy.
