Of the 36,840 recorded suicide cases in 2009, 29,035 were men suicides and 7,805 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 19.2 per 100,000 men and for women 5 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In United States suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 15,399 homicides in United States, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.4 suicides.
