Dow Jones

The full name of the Dow Jones is the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA). It is the best known index of the New York Stock Exchange and is the oldest stock market index in the world. It is composed of the 30 largest capitalized industrial companies. It is compiled by Dow Jones Indices, LLC, as well as the Dow Jones Transportation Index, made up of 20 companies, and the Services Index, made up of 20 companies. All of them were created by two American journalists, Charles Dow and Edward Jones.
