In Thailand there were 11.19 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.88 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 7,107 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 4,561 were men suicides and 2,546 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.55 per 100,000 men and for women 7.88 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Thailand suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 5,020 homicides in Thailand, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.4 suicides.
