By 2001, suicides in Rwanda increased by 18 people to at 907 suicides On average, there are 2 suicides per day.

In Rwanda there were 11.48 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.88 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 907 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 809 were men suicides and 97 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 20.49 per 100,000 men and for women 2.28 per 100,000 female.
