Of the 13 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 11 were men suicides and 2 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 12.69 per 100,000 men and for women 1.73 per 100,000 female.
Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Saint Lucia. However, in Saint Lucia in 2015 there were there were 28 homicides, and therefore, number of deaths by murder is far greater than people to take their own lives. There were 2.2 homicides per suicide.
