Oman - Intentional self-harm

In 2001 occurred 112 suicides in Oman. This year, 3 fewer people committed suicide than in 2000.

Oman had 4.59 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.88 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 112 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 96 were men suicides and 16 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 7.09 per 100,000 men and for women 1.56 per 100,000 female.
