Suicides fell in Norway

By 2022, suicides in Norway increased by 29 people to at 628 suicides In Norway, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Norway there were 11.32 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.13 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 628 recorded suicide cases in 2022, 450 were men suicides and 178 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 16.06 per 100,000 men and for women 6.5 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Norway suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 30 homicides in Norway, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 20.9 suicides.
