Finland has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 1,204 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 933 were men suicides and 271 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 36.8 per 100,000 men and for women 10.2 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Finland suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 156 homicides in Finland, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 7.7 suicides.
