Afghanistan reported 5.07 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.88 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 998 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 833 were men suicides and 165 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 8.42 per 100,000 men and for women 1.69 per 100,000 female.
