In November, vehicle registrations in Austria grew by 0.14% with respect to November of 1999. In total, 24,454 cars were registered and 343,992 new cars were sold in the last twelve months, 1.38% less than the year before.
The breakdown of car sales figures for the month of November is:
- Commercial vehicles sold: 3,414, 12.45% more than in November of 1999.
- Passenger cars regitrations: 21,040, which represents a figure of 1.61% less than in November of 1999.

A very useful variable for estimating the level of economic wealth enjoyed by Austrians residents, when compared to the other countries in the ranking, is the number of vehicles sold or registered per thousand residents in the last year. With annual sales of 42.99 cars per 1,000 residents, 3.06 of them in the last month, Austria, occupies 13th place in the ranking.
As can be seen, the number of registrations per thousand residents has grown in the last year. The increase in this figure is positive, as it generally indicates improved public confidence in the country's economy.
