Of the 35 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 26 were men suicides and 9 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.8 per 100,000 men and for women 6.2 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Iceland suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 3 homicides in Iceland, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 11.7 suicides.
