Debt decreased in Germany

In 2017 Germany public debt was 2,130,324 million euros2,384,322 million dollars, has decreased 31,2277,633 million since 2016.

This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 65.2% of Germany GDP, a 3.8 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 69% of GDP.

If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Germany debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 1,603,669 million euros 2,198,052 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 64.2%.

According to the last data point published, Germany per capita debt in 2017 was 25,731 euros28,799 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 26,194 euros 28,986 dollars, afterwards dropping by 463 euros 187dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 19,505 euros26,734 dollars .

The position of Germany, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 136 in the list of debt to GDP and 175 in debt per capita, out of the 191 we publish.
