In 2017 Germany public debt was 2,092,643 million euros 2,364,059 million dollars, has decreased 47,366 4,717 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 64.1% of Germany GDP, a 4 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 68.1% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Germany debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 1,599,947 million euros 2,192,728 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 63.7%.
According to the last data point published, Germany per capita debt in 2017 was 25,359 euros28,648 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 25,933 euros 28,705 dollars, afterwards dropping by 574 euros 57dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 19,460 euros26,670 dollars .
The position of Germany, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 126 in the list of debt to GDP and 172 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
