In 2016 Ghana public debt was 28,382 million euros 31,416 million dollars, has increased 4,3754,780 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 73.41% of Ghana GDP, a 1.19 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 72.22% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Ghana debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 4,262 million euros 5,351 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 26.22%.
According to the last data point published, Ghana per capita debt in 2016 was 1,006 euros1,114 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 870 euros 966 dollars, afterwards rising by 136 euros148 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 193 euros242 dollars .
The position of Ghana, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 141 in the list of debt to GDP and 62 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
