In 2018 Ghana public debt was 32,880 million euros 38,831 million dollars, has increased 2,9725,044 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 59.29% of Ghana GDP, a 2.02 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 57.27% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Ghana debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 6,517 million euros 9,585 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 24.95%.
According to the last data point published, Ghana per capita debt in 2018 was 1,105 euros1,304 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 1,027 euros 1,160 dollars, afterwards rising by 78 euros144 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 277 euros407 dollars .
The position of Ghana, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 116 in the list of debt to GDP and 65 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
