In 2017 Tuvalu public debt was 13 million euros 14 million dollars, has decreased 3 3 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 36.97% of Tuvalu GDP, a 10.25 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 47.22% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Tuvalu debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 7 million euros 9 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 34.62%.
According to the last data point published, Tuvalu per capita debt in 2017 was 1,117 euros1,262 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 1,398 euros 1,548 dollars, afterwards dropping by 281 euros 286dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 677 euros928 dollars .
The position of Tuvalu, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 55 in the list of debt to GDP and 65 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
