In 2017 Uganda public debt was 9,307 million euros 10,514 million dollars, has increased 1,0171,338 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 39.72% of Uganda GDP, a 2.65 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 37.07% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Uganda debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 2,169 million euros 2,973 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 22.03%.
According to the last data point published, Uganda per capita debt in 2017 was 226 euros255 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 227 euros 251 dollars, afterwards dropping by 1 euro 4dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 79 euros108 dollars .
The position of Uganda, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 64 in the list of debt to GDP and 16 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
