In 2016 Uganda public debt was 8,290 million euros 9,176 million dollars, has increased 1,1981,308 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 37.43% of Uganda GDP, a 3.95 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 33.48% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Uganda debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 3,113 million euros 3,908 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 36.02%.
According to the last data point published, Uganda per capita debt in 2016 was 227 euros251 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 200 euros 222 dollars, afterwards rising by 27 euros29 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 117 euros146 dollars .
The position of Uganda, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 57 in the list of debt to GDP and 15 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
