Slovakia had 12.6 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.53 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 676 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 564 were men suicides and 112 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 21.6 per 100,000 men and for women 4.1 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Slovakia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 108 homicides in Slovakia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 6.3 suicides.
