In 2013 occurred 3,510 suicides in Philippines. This year, 129 fewer people committed suicide than in 2012. In 2013, on average 10 Philippines committed suicide every day.

Philippines had 3.59 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.78 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 3,510 recorded suicide cases in 2013, 2,637 were men suicides and 874 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 5.23 per 100,000 men and for women 1.77 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Philippines. However, in Philippines in 2013 there were there were 9,153 homicides, and therefore, number of deaths by murder is far greater than people to take their own lives. There were 2.6 homicides per suicide.
