In Poland there were 11.93 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.46 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 4,503 recorded suicide cases in 2017, 3,899 were men suicides and 604 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 21.35 per 100,000 men and for women 3.1 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Poland suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 287 homicides in Poland, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 15.7 suicides.
