There are 13 suicides per day in Poland

In 2021 occurred 4,607 suicides in Poland. This year, 23 more people committed suicide than in 2020. In 2021, on average 13 Poles committed suicide every day.

Poland had 12.29 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.18 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 4,607 recorded suicide cases in 2021, 3,949 were men suicides and 658 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 21.79 per 100,000 men and for women 3.39 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Poland suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 273 homicides in Poland, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 16.9 suicides.
