Mexico has the lowest suicide rate in the world

In 1970 occurred 554 suicides in Mexico. This year, 214 more people committed suicide than in 1969. In Mexico, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Mexico had 1.1 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 11.8 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Mexico has the lowest suicide rate in the world.

Of the 554 recorded suicide cases in 1970, 445 were men suicides and 109 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 1.8 per 100,000 men and for women 0.4 per 100,000 female.
