In 2020 Spain public debt was 1,345,570 million euros1,536,910 million dollars, has increased 156,750206,026 million since 2019.
This amount means that the debt in 2020 reached 120% of Spain GDP, a 24.5 percentage point rise from 2019, when it was 95.5% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Spain debt. It has risen since 2010 in global debt terms, when it was 649,153 million euros 860,582 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 60.5%.
According to the last data point published, Spain per capita debt in 2020 was 28,428 euros32,470 dollars per inhabitant. In 2019 it was 25,116 euros 28,118 dollars, afterwards rising by 3,312 euros4,352 dollars, and if we again check 2010 we can see that then the debt per person was 13,910 euros18,441 dollars .
The position of Spain, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2020 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 177 in the list of debt to GDP and 173 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
