In 2018 Spain public debt was 1,173,988 million euros 1,386,480 million dollars, has increased 29,56393,623 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 97.2% of Spain GDP, a 0.9 percentage point fall from 2017, when it was 98.1% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Spain debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 439,771 million euros 646,816 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 39.5%.
According to the last data point published, Spain per capita debt in 2018 was 25,121 euros29,668 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 24,528 euros 27,709 dollars, afterwards rising by 593 euros1,959 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 9,511 euros13,988 dollars .
The position of Spain, as compared with the rest of the world, has remained in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 168 in the list of debt to GDP and 171 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
