Japan has a very high suicide rate

By 1966, suicides in Japan increased by 606 people to at 15,050 suicides In 1966, on average 41 Japanese committed suicide every day.

In Japan there were 15.1 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 11.67 suicides per 100,000 people.

Japan, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 15,050 recorded suicide cases in 1966, 8,450 were men suicides and 6,600 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.2 per 100,000 men and for women 13 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
