In 1966 around 69 suicides occurred in Ireland, 18 more than in 1965.

Of the 69 recorded suicide cases in 1966, 52 were men suicides and 17 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 3.6 per 100,000 men and for women 1.2 per 100,000 female.
