In 2016 Vanuatu public debt was 332 million euros 368 million dollars, has increased 6774 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 46.06% of Vanuatu GDP, a 8.03 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 38.03% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Vanuatu debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 77 million euros 97 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 22.16%.
According to the last data point published, Vanuatu per capita debt in 2016 was 1,228 euros1,360 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 986 euros 1,094 dollars, afterwards rising by 242 euros266 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 354 euros444 dollars .
The position of Vanuatu, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 83 in the list of debt to GDP and 68 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
