In 2016 Vanuatu public debt was 222 million euros 245 million dollars, has increased 2830 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 30.41% of Vanuatu GDP, a 2.87 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 27.54% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Vanuatu debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 77 million euros 97 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 22.16%.
According to the last data point published, Vanuatu per capita debt in 2016 was 820 euros908 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 721 euros 799 dollars, afterwards rising by 99 euros109 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 354 euros444 dollars .
The position of Vanuatu, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 31 in the list of debt to GDP and 55 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
