In 2017 Venezuela public debt was 33,096 million euros37,388 million dollars, has increased 20,52323,471 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 26% of Venezuela GDP, a 20.95 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 5.05% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Venezuela debt. It has gone down since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 33,978 million euros 46,567 million dollars , while improved as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 19.07%.
According to the last data point published, Venezuela per capita debt in 2017 was 1,126 euros1,272 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 421 euros 466 dollars, afterwards rising by 705 euros806 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,246 euros1,707 dollars .
The position of Venezuela, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 22 in the list of debt to GDP and 59 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
