In 2017 Venezuela public debt was 42,104 million euros 47,565 million dollars, has decreased 34,229 36,928 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 33.05% of Venezuela GDP, a 2.71 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 30.34% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Venezuela debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 32,367 million euros 44,359 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 26.36%.
According to the last data point published, Venezuela per capita debt in 2017 was 1,317 euros1,487 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 2,418 euros 2,677 dollars, afterwards dropping by 1,101 euros 1,190dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,187 euros1,626 dollars .
The position of Venezuela, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 41 in the list of debt to GDP and 72 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
