In 2017 Venezuela public debt was 29,418 million euros 33,234 million dollars, has increased 16,84519,317 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 23.12% of Venezuela GDP, a 18.07 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 5.05% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Venezuela debt. It has gone down since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 32,387 million euros 44,386 million dollars , while improved as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 19.08%.
According to the last data point published, Venezuela per capita debt in 2017 was 1,001 euros1,131 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 421 euros 466 dollars, afterwards rising by 580 euros665 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,188 euros1,627 dollars .
The position of Venezuela, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 22 in the list of debt to GDP and 62 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
