In 2018 Haiti public debt was 2,719 million euros 3,211 million dollars, has increased 413606 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 33.26% of Haiti GDP, a 2.29 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 30.97% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Haiti debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 1,647 million euros 2,422 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 36.98%.
According to the last data point published, Haiti per capita debt in 2018 was 244 euros289 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 210 euros 237 dollars, afterwards rising by 34 euros52 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 171 euros251 dollars .
The position of Haiti, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 40 in the list of debt to GDP and 14 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
