In 2019 Guyana public debt was 1,839 million euros2,059 million dollars, has increased 924 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 39.79% of Guyana GDP, a 3.32 percentage point fall from 2018, when it was 43.11% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Guyana debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 975 million euros 1,360 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 52.32%.
According to the last data point published, Guyana per capita debt in 2019 was 2,343 euros2,622 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 2,234 euros 2,638 dollars, afterwards rising by 109 euros16 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,298 euros1,810 dollars .
The position of Guyana, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 50 in the list of debt to GDP and 92 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
