In 2019 Guatemala public debt was 18,215 million euros20,392 million dollars, has increased 1,8111,018 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 26.59% of Guatemala GDP, a 0.08 percentage point rise from 2018, when it was 26.51% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Guatemala debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 6,212 million euros 8,665 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 22.78%.
According to the last data point published, Guatemala per capita debt in 2019 was 1,034 euros1,158 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 950 euros 1,122 dollars, afterwards rising by 84 euros36 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 434 euros605 dollars .
The position of Guatemala, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 23 in the list of debt to GDP and 56 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
