Economic aggregates

Monetary aggregates are the types of money that make up the money supply, classified according to their liquidity and risk.

Monetary aggregates are identified by the letter M (initial of money) followed by a number. The ECB only admits 3 monetary aggregates, M1, M2, M3, although the following are commonly accepted: M0, M1, M2, M3 and M4.
