M1

M1 is the second monetary aggregate, ordered from most to least liquid, of those that make up the money supply. This is cash, i.e., coins and banknotes circulating in the system plus demand deposits. It is equal to M0 plus the deposits of individuals and companies.

M1= M0 + demand deposits= Cash + Demand deposits
