There are 15 suicides per day in Viet Nam

By 2006, suicides in Viet Nam increased by 32 people to at 5,472 suicides In 2006, on average 15 Vietnamese committed suicide every day.

In Viet Nam there were 6.47 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.12 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 5,472 recorded suicide cases in 2006, 4,113 were men suicides and 1,359 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 9.97 per 100,000 men and for women 3.18 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Viet Nam suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,048 homicides in Viet Nam, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 5.2 suicides.
