In 1969 around 1,067 suicides occurred in Switzerland, 19 more than in 1968. On average, there are 3 suicides per day.

Switzerland reported 17.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 11.58 suicides per 100,000 people.

Switzerland, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 1,067 recorded suicide cases in 1969, 760 were men suicides and 307 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 25.4 per 100,000 men and for women 9.8 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
