Of the 1,646 recorded suicide cases in 1972, 1,189 were men suicides and 457 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 29.4 per 100,000 men and for women 11.2 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
