Sweden has a very high suicide rate

In 1968 occurred 1,702 suicides in Sweden, the same people committed suicide than in 1967. In 1968, on average 5 Swedes committed suicide every day.

Sweden had 21.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 11.66 suicides per 100,000 people.

Sweden has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 1,702 recorded suicide cases in 1968, 1,240 were men suicides and 462 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 31.4 per 100,000 men and for women 11.7 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
