In 1965 occurred 1,459 suicides in Sweden. This year, 55 fewer people committed suicide than in 1964. In 1965, on average 4 Swedes committed suicide every day.

Sweden had 18.9 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 11.36 suicides per 100,000 people.

Sweden, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 1,459 recorded suicide cases in 1965, 1,068 were men suicides and 391 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 27.7 per 100,000 men and for women 10.1 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
