In 1969 around 1,476 suicides occurred in Spain, 63 more than in 1968. In 1969, on average 4 Spaniards committed suicide every day.

Spain reported 4.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 11.58 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Spain has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 1,476 recorded suicide cases in 1969, 1,110 were men suicides and 366 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 6.8 per 100,000 men and for women 2.1 per 100,000 female.
