Suicides increase in Norway

In 1969 occurred 314 suicides in Norway. This year, 6 more people committed suicide than in 1968.

Norway had 8.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 11.58 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Norway has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 314 recorded suicide cases in 1969, 250 were men suicides and 64 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 13.1 per 100,000 men and for women 3.3 per 100,000 female.
