Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate

In 2013 occurred 5,358 suicides in Kazakhstan. This year, 1,356 more people committed suicide than in 2012. In 2013, on average 15 Kazakhs committed suicide every day.

Kazakhstan had 31.22 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.78 suicides per 100,000 people.

Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 5,358 recorded suicide cases in 2013, 4,345 were men suicides and 1,012 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 53.44 per 100,000 men and for women 11.37 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kazakhstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,120 homicides in Kazakhstan, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 4.8 suicides.
