In Kazakhstan there were 31.76 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 10.12 suicides per 100,000 people.
Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 4,891 recorded suicide cases in 2006, 4,080 were men suicides and 811 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 56.09 per 100,000 men and for women 10.09 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kazakhstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 2,091 homicides in Kazakhstan, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.3 suicides.
