Israel had 6.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.69 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 417 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 345 were men suicides and 72 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.4 per 100,000 men and for women 2.1 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Israel suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 171 homicides in Israel, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.4 suicides.
