Iceland has a low suicide rate

In 1971 around 11 suicides occurred in Iceland, 16 less than in 1970.

Iceland reported 5.3 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 11.63 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Iceland has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 11 recorded suicide cases in 1971, 9 were men suicides and 2 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 8.6 per 100,000 men and for women 2 per 100,000 female.
