Iceland has a low suicide rate

In 1968 occurred 15 suicides in Iceland. This year, 17 fewer people committed suicide than in 1967.

Iceland had 7.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 11.66 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Iceland has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 15 recorded suicide cases in 1968, 13 were men suicides and 2 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 12.8 per 100,000 men and for women 2 per 100,000 female.
