Of the 1,060 recorded suicide cases in 1970, 670 were men suicides and 390 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 27.4 per 100,000 men and for women 15.7 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
