Suicides fell in Denmark

By 2023, suicides in Denmark increased by 45 people to at 534 suicides In Denmark, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Denmark there were 9.01 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.12 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 534 recorded suicide cases in 2023, 382 were men suicides and 152 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 12.99 per 100,000 men and for women 5.08 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Denmark suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 50 homicides in Denmark, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 10.7 suicides.
