There are 354 suicides per day in China

In 2004 around 129,120 suicides occurred in China, 4,737 more than in 2003. In 2004, on average 354 Chinese committed suicide every day.

China reported 9.93 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.53 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 129,120 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 71,635 were women and 57,485 were men. More women than men die by suicide each year, and is among the few countries where the female rate is higher than the male rate.11.37 women per 100.000 female cause their own deaths and 8.58 men per 100.000 male..

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In China suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 24,711 homicides in China, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 5.2 suicides.
